Population Info

Fish species other than steelhead and salmon are captured in the Dayton fish trap including bull trout, brown trout, white fish, pike minnow and suckers.  In 2008, fish passage was improved through the City of Dayton by the completion of the Touchet River Consolidation Project sponsored by WDFW, which consolidated three diversion points and installed an improved fish ladder improving passage for all species.  The fish trap was also improved.  As a result native fish populations have begun to be captured in higher numbers in the adult trap.
